Singapore Patients Are Ditching Single Treatments for Combination Plans, ClearSK Doctors Say
Singapore clinics report a steady rise in patients requesting combination plans over single treatments — and doctors explain the clinical logic behind it.
SINGAPORE, SINGAPORE, August 27, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Doctors at ClearSK say a growing proportion of consultations across its Singapore clinics now involve discussion of more than one treatment, reflecting what they describe as a shift in how patients think about aesthetic concerns — less as isolated issues, and more as a connected set of changes across skin, face, body, or hair.ClearSK doctors say this pattern has become more pronounced in recent consultations, with patients increasingly asking upfront whether their concerns can be addressed together, rather than one at a time.
"A common misconception is that more treatment always means a bigger commitment. In reality, a combination plan means each treatment is matched to a specific concern, rather than one treatment being stretched to cover everything. Whether combining is appropriate always depends on the individual's concerns and clinical assessment," said Dr Shiau Ee Leng, Co-Founder and Group Medical Director of ClearSK.
Aesthetic concerns rarely exist in isolation. Skin tone, skin texture, structural support, and hydration are each governed by different biological processes, meaning a single treatment mechanism is unlikely to address more than one of them simultaneously.
Device-based treatments, such as lasers or radiofrequency-based technologies, are designed to work at specific depths of tissue using targeted energy, addressing concerns such as pigmentation, texture, or structural firmness depending on the technology used.
Injectable treatments, by contrast, are designed to deliver a specific substance into a targeted layer of skin or tissue, addressing concerns such as hydration, volume, or muscle-related movement, depending on the formulation.
Because device-based and injectable treatments are designed around different mechanisms, a doctor may consider combining the two where a patient's concerns span more than one of these categories. This is assessed individually, rather than assumed as a default recommendation.
At ClearSK, combination treatment plans are developed following a doctor-led consultation, with suitability for each treatment assessed separately based on individual presentation. As with any aesthetic treatment, outcomes and suitability vary from person to person, and specific results are not guaranteed.
